The masks are off, the plotting has begun and after the first two episodes of The Traitors Ireland on RTÉ One, we already know one thing: Ireland is hooked. As proud sponsor of the series, online retailer Very wanted to dig a little deeper into just how loyal Irish women really are and commissioned Amárach Research to find out.

The verdict? We’re a pretty faithful bunch… but we all have our cheeky side. Perfect, really, for a show that’s all about knowing who to trust and when to bluff.

The fun findings:

Sharing the screen: 48% of us are loyal enough to wait and watch our favourite shows with a partner or friend, no sneaky “next episode” binges here (well, for half of us anyway!).

Keeping secrets safe: Only 1 in 10 admitted they might cave and spill a bestie’s secret if the pressure was on.

Fashion faithfulness: 30% would politely check in before wearing a new outfit if their friend hadn’t debuted it yet, but 55% would strut ahead and wear it if they thought it looked good.

Generous with style: An impressive 93% said they’d happily let a friend have that must-have piece instead.

Shopping secrets: Just 13% like to guard their shopping spots, the rest don’t mind sharing where the bargains are.

Outfit clashes: 43% don’t mind if their friend buys the same outfit, but only depending on the event.

Protective lies: A whopping 84% would fib to protect someone from hurt, with 39% saying they’d only do it for something small.

Social media loyalty: Only 9% admitted they’d post a photo where they look great but their friend doesn’t. (The other 91% clearly value harmony over likes!)

Balancing priorities: Faced with a clash between a friend’s event and a dream opportunity, 43% said they’d try to juggle both, while 45% would sit down and explain why they had to take the opportunity.

Style advisors: 63% back themselves as their own top stylist, while 19% prefer to let their best friend play fashion guru.

From saving secrets to sharing outfits, the research shows that loyalty and honesty play a starring role in everyday Irish life, just like in The Traitors Ireland, where players must decide when to stay faithful and when to deceive.

Catherine O’Toole, Head of Marketing at Very, said: “At Very, we know that style and self-expression are all about confidence - but friendships and loyalty matter just as much. That’s why we’re so excited to sponsor The Traitors Ireland with RTÉ, bringing our ‘flamazing’ brand world into play and adding a splash of flamboyance to the mystery. Just like in fashion, it’s about knowing who to trust, when to shine, and when to play it safe. The first episode has already delivered plenty of suspense and drama, and we can’t wait to see how the rest of the series unfolds.”

With plotting, paranoia, and plenty of stylish drama already on screen, Very is delighted to be part of a show that celebrates loyalty, strategy and a tiny touch of deception!
