OAKBERRY, the world’s #1 açaí brand, is excited to announce the launch of their first Munster based Açaí Bar opening today, December 18th, at Oliver Plunkett Street in the heart of Cork city. As a really special treat, Cork’s first OAKBERRY customers today will be served by Cork All-Star legend and Munster hurler of the year Brian Hayes. Customers to the new store will be able to enjoy the brand’s customisable organic açaí bowls and signature smoothies, handcrafted coffees and much more in a convenient grab-and-go format, adding a new ‘healthy fast food’ option to the city.
Following the opening of thirteen additional OAKBERRY stores across Ireland, since only 2023, today's Cork opening reinforces OAKBERRY's phenomenal success across the country and the continued consumer appetite here for nutritious, healthy but also fast dining. Speaking at the opening, Nick Twomey, Managing Director and Co-Founder of Oakberry Ireland commented that:
“This is our 14th store opening in two years, but we’re particularly thrilled to bring OAKBERRY to Cork city today. We've been working to make this happen for well over a year now, and finally our first opening in Munster! The OAKBERRY Açaí Bar is about making healthy fast food available to as many people as possible. As the people of Cork are about to find out, fast food can be both super delicious and super healthy!”
“Our flagship Dublin store on South Anne St, just off Grafton St, retains the title of Europe’s #1 performing OAKBERRY, and believe me they’re everywhere across Europe from Mykonos to Lisbon, so we’re super excited to see if Cork will have the same appetite for OAKBERRY as Dublin does!”
Speaking at the opening of the Cork Store, hurler Brian Hayes commented:
“It’s been class to see the reaction in Cork already - there was a great buzz here from first thing this morning. People are really into good, healthy food now, so OAKBERRY fits right into the Cork food scene. It’s definitely somewhere I’ll be calling in after training or when I’m in town.”.
About OAKBERRY: From Berry to Bowl
The açaí berry is rich in antioxidants, healthy fats and fiber. OAKBERRY is the only açaí brand globally that manages every step ‘from berry to bowl’. Its açaí is organically harvested by riverside communities in Pará, Brazil, helping protect biodiversity and support local economies. At the brand’s purpose-built “Oakville” facility, the berries are carefully processed into sorbet, preserving flavour and nutritional value.
Everything served in-store is free from artificial preservatives or colourants, and OAKBERRY uses only organic ingredients. Whether it’s breakfast before work, a post-shopping treat or a quick afternoon pick-me-up after lectures, OAKBERRY delivers flavour, nutrition and convenience in minutes.
OAKBERRY’s menu is designed around speed, simplicity and full customisation. Customers start by choosing their bowl size: Classic (350ml), Works (500ml) or Oak (650ml), before adding as many toppings as they like, from granola and fresh fruit to chia pudding, pistachio cream, peanut butter and protein options. Alongside build-your-own bowls, Irish customers have gravitated towards several signature combinations, including the Original, made with granola, banana and peanut butter; the Crunchy, with granola, chia pudding, strawberries, blueberries and cacao nibs; and the indulgent Pistachio Cream bowl, one of the brand’s most popular premium options.
OAKBERRY also offers a full line of açaí smoothies such as Very Berry, Tropical Beats and the collagen-boosting Super Glow, as well as iced matcha lattes, overnight oats and speciality coffee, making the menu suitable for breakfast, post-swim refuels or all-day ‘healthy fast food’.
OAKBERRY in Ireland
Since arriving just over a year ago, OAKBERRY Ireland has become one of the brand’s fastest-growing global markets. Franchise owners Nick Twomey and Cian O’Donoghue have built a loyal following with multiple high-performing locations and plans to exceed 18 stores nationwide by next summer. The brand’s first store opened on Dublin’s South Anne Street in 2023 and its record breaking success since has made it officially one of OAKBERRY’S top-performing stores in Europe.
