A lot has changed in the 4 years since Early Table was launched, offering diners across Ireland up to 50% off their food at select restaurants nationwide. It was embraced by restaurateurs as a much-needed way to fill empty tables and create revenue, with Early Table customers spending an average of €40 per person after discount! Now subscription based with a reservation costing from just €1 per person, the newly launched Early Table App is proving to make bookings even easier with the added convenience of location based searching!

Early Table has also played a part in a measurable shift in dining habits. A recent survey of its customers has shown that the trend towards eating out earlier is growing, and here to stay. Eating out early is now seen as an alternative to pints in the pub, and feeds into a healthier lifestyle too, as early starts need early nights! With Early Table, diners are both incentivised and rewarded for eating out earlier and discovering new destinations and cuisines too!
New user data from the Irish restaurant booking platform reveals significant behavioural changes among its growing community of diners:
8 in 10 users say they are dining out more frequently since joining Early Table
Nearly 9 in 10 are now choosing earlier dining times
96% say it has helped them try new restaurants
80% are more likely to treat themselves to starters, desserts or premium dishes
74% have recommended Early Table multiple times
Users report feeling the benefits of earlier meals, beyond their wallets:
45% say dining earlier helps them feel better overall
44% say it improves their sleep
38% say it helps build a healthier evening routine
This emerging lifestyle change suggests early dining is becoming less of a “discount hack” and more of a conscious choice around wellbeing and routine.
Founder of Early Table, James Lenehan believes the shift is significant, he said: “We always knew the financial incentive would encourage people to try Early Table. What’s really exciting now is seeing genuine habit change. People are dining out more often, trying new places, booking earlier and even building healthier evening routines around it. It’s evolved into something much bigger than discounts – it’s influencing behaviour.”
Restaurant discovery is another standout trend. With 96% of users trying new venues through the platform, Early Table is actively broadening dining horizons across the country. Early Table user Janice says "Early Table gives you the opportunity to experience new restaurants while making great savings especially now when living in general is so expensive for people and getting out is so important. I have been introduced to a host of fabulous restaurants"

Participating restaurants benefit not just from filling quieter early-evening slots, but from attracting new customers who frequently return at full price. The average Early Table diner spends approximately €40 per person after discount - revenue that might otherwise be lost during off-peak periods. The platform now generates in excess of €100,000 per month for partner restaurants.
Early Table recently launched its dedicated app and early indicators show strong momentum. In-app bookings are now beginning to overtake website reservations, signalling a new phase of growth and increased user engagement. Early Table user Ann Marie says, "easy app to use, from finding restaurants to booking was seamless."
Website traffic traditionally peaks around 3pm on weekdays, as people plan post-work catch-ups. Most weekday bookings are for groups of two to four, while weekend reservations for larger groups - now up to eight diners, are increasingly popular.
With over 65,000 registered subscribers and new restaurants joining weekly, Early Table continues to expand nationwide, spanning fine dining, casual eateries, independent operators and major hospitality groups.
As Lenehan puts it, “Consumers and restaurants alike have embraced the concept. The flexibility to dine earlier in exchange for real value has proven incredibly powerful. It’s a win-win, restaurants fill seats, and diners feel they’re making smarter, more intentional choices about when and how they eat out.”
