Healthy Heroes Lunch Club, a primary school initiative supported by the Irish Bread Bakers Association (IBBA) and Bord Bia, teams up with digital personality Dearbhla Toal aka Belle Azzure to host fun ‘get moving’ sessions at the ‘Budding Bloomers Kids’ Zone.’ The interactive sessions will take place on May 29th and 30th at 10.50am and 12.10pm each day.

The fun activities as part of each session are based on the physical exercise elements of the Healthy Heroes programme, which aims to educate children on nutrition, physical activity and how to maintain and enjoy healthy lunchtime habits.

The Healthy Heroes Club programme, now in its eleventh year, allows pupils to learn about nutrition, while helping to boost children’s activity levels in a supportive learning environment. Designed by teachers and behaviour change experts with the support of Dr. Mary McCreery, one of Ireland’s leading consultant nutritionists and dieticians, the initiative gives children the opportunity to foster valuable leadership, teamwork, and communication skills, all while learning to stay active and eat healthily.

Speaking ahead of the event, Dearbhla Toal said,"I’m so excited to team up with the Healthy Heroes Lunch Club, supported by the IBBA and Bord Bia, to bring some fun and energy to the Budding Bloomers Kids’ Zone at Bloom! Helping kids learn about movement, exercise, and good food in a fun way is something I really believe in. At home, we’re all about getting active as a family whether it’s dancing in the kitchen or playing outside, it makes such a difference. I can’t wait to meet some little Healthy Heroes at Bloom and encourage you all to come along, join in the fun, and get moving with us!"
