Have a Purty Christmas At The Purty Kitchen, Dun Laoghaire

There’s nothing quite like the twinkle of Christmas lights in a traditional pub to get us in the festive spirit. The Purty Kitchen, a vibrant restaurant, bar and live event space housed in Dun Laoghaire’s oldest surviving premises, offers a great option for groups to celebrate the holiday with great food and drinks in the comfort and conviviality of a pub steeped in 300 years of history.

Head Chef Graham Higgins (formerly of Rock Lobster and Ouzo’s in Dublin) leads The Purty Kitchen team in creating restaurant-quality Christmas menus with a focus on the very best ingredients sourced from local suppliers.

Groups of up to 15 seated downstairs can avail of The Purty Kitchen Christmas Set Menu at €55 per person.

The three-course set menu features options to keep both traditionalists and more adventurous eaters happy - think starters like sizzling prawn pil pil or salt and pepper chilli calamari while mains include chargrilled cauliflower steak with chimichurri, kimchi and crispy quinoa; garlic and thyme roasted breast of free range chicken served with maple glazed carrots, butternut squash puree and red wine jus; or pan-fried fillet of sea bass served with Patatas Bravas, saffron aioli and citrus salsa.

To finish, diners can enjoy desserts like sticky toffee pudding with vanilla bean ice cream or The Purty Kitchen’s much-loved Lemon Dessert.

Larger groups from 50 to 250 people are accommodated upstairs in The Purty Loft, available at a room hire rate of €500.

Groups of 50 people or more can choose from a choice of canapé menus from €12.95 per person featuring dishes like Irish beef sliders on brioche buns or haddock goujons in Wicklow Wolf pale ale batter along with a range of vegan and vegetarian options available on request. Alternatively choose The Purty Loft Buffet at €28.95 per person, offering a choice of hot dishes like Beef Bourguignon and Vegan Moroccan Tagine along with a range of salads.

All menus are complemented by an extensive drinks menu, including a wide range of cocktails, featuring house specialities like the Guinness & Raspberry Flip made with Irish whiskey, Guinness, white chocolate and raspberry, as well as classics like an Espresso Martini or an Old Fashioned. Guests can also expect decadent Christmas table decorations and festive favours, while there’s also a stage and full AV system in place at The Purty Loft for any entertainment booked.

The Purty Kitchen is located at 4 Old Dunleary Road, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin, visis www.purtykitchen.com for further information.
