KitKat has unveiled a life-sized, hand-crafted chocolate car, inspired by Formula 1®. The masterpiece was revealed at the legendary Silverstone Circuit by racing ace and presenter Billy Monger, marking the high-speed start of KitKat’s partnership with Formula 1® and in celebration of its limited-edition miniature replica chocolate car.

The pit stop is Formula 1's ultimate break, so KitKat wanted to pay tribute by creating a chocolate car that mirrors the size of a Formula 1® model. Measuring an impressive five metres in length, two metres in width, and weighing in at a whopping 350kg, the car is equal to the equivalent of over 16,900 two-finger KitKats. After 1,254 hours of skilful craftsmanship led by master chocolatier, Jen Lindsey-Clark, the car is a breathtaking tribute to speed. From the aerodynamic front wing to the iconic rear spoiler, every detail has been meticulously rendered with precision.
In the legendary Silverstone pit lane where the world’s fastest cars usually undergo high-pressure tyre changes, Billy Monger and Laura O’Connell traded the smell of burning rubber for the scent of chocolate. Swapping their racing helmets for a KitKat, Billy and Laura “unwrapped” the giant car, proving that even the home of British racing needs a break sometimes.
Laura O’Connell, motor racing driver, said: “I’m thrilled to be here at Silverstone, a track synonymous with iconic racing - and now home to this incredible giant KitKat chocolate car. Success isn’t just about speed - often, the smartest move you can make is to take a break, reset, and recharge. This innovative stunt is a bold reminder that balance is key, and I’ll ensure to keep that in mind when I return to the Silverstone grid for my own race in August.”
Billy Monger, former racing driver, F1® commentator and presenter, said: "I’ve seen some incredible cars at Silverstone, but none as unique as this one. In racing, we’re always told to stay focused, but even the best drivers know that you can’t perform without a proper break. So, I’m buzzing to be unveiling this giant KitKat car at the home of British racing to kick off the new season, reminding people to take a break and get ready for all of the action."
The giant car signals the green light for fans across the country to get their hands on a KitKat limited-edition miniature replica chocolate car. This innovative, limited-edition product features a smooth milk chocolate shell with chocolatey filling and embedded crispy cereal pieces.
Scott Coles, Managing Director for Nestlé Confectionery in the UK and Ireland, said: "KitKat has always championed the power of taking a break, so to celebrate our partnership with Formula 1 we wanted to build something truly unexpected. We built the chocolate racing car as a tribute to the precision of the sport and the playfulness of our brand. We’re not just showing up at the track, we're also bringing the thrill of the race to supermarket aisles, making every 'F1 break' part of the fan experience."
KitKat will feature at key F1® races in Nestlé’s top markets during the 2026 season. The partnership goes beyond trackside visibility, delivering immersive fan experiences through social media engagement, exclusive merchandise, in-store activations, prize promotions, and innovative, limited-edition products. KitKat will also appear with targeted ads during the Netflix series, Drive to Survive, giving fans unique ways to engage with a sport that’s rapidly gaining traction among younger generations.
