Halloween’s not just for the kids — it’s the perfect excuse for a few themed drinks too! But we’re keeping things simple here. No dry ice, no fancy syrups or bar tools — just easy cocktails and mocktails you can whip up at home using stuff you’ll find in your kitchen or local supermarket.
Whether you’re hosting a few mates, watching horror movies with the lights off, or just fancy a festive drink after trick-or-treating duty, these spooky sips will do the trick (and the treat).
The Cocktails:

Bloody Eyeball Punch
A creepy twist on a classic party punch — fruity, refreshing, and just the right amount of gross.
What you’ll need:
Cranberry juice
Orange juice
Vodka (or white rum if you prefer)
Lemon-lime soda
Grenadine (optional, for extra bloodiness)
How to make it:Mix equal parts of the juices with your chosen spirit, top with soda, and add a dash of grenadine for that blood-red finish. For the Halloween effect, pop in some peeled lychees stuffed with blueberries — they look exactly like eyeballs floating in your drink. Horrific. In the best way.

The Witch’s Brew
A zesty, green drink that’s as wicked as it sounds.
What you’ll need:
Midori (melon liqueur) or Apple Sourz
Lemonade
A squeeze of lime juice
How to make it:
Pour the Midori over ice, top with lemonade, and finish with a squeeze of lime. Rim your glass with green or black sugar (just add food colouring to sugar and let it dry) for extra witchy points.

Pumpkin Spice White Russian
If you love autumn flavours, this one’s a winner — cosy, creamy, and dangerously sippable.
What you’ll need:
Vodka
Coffee liqueur (like Kahlúa)
Milk or cream
1 tsp pumpkin purée (or a splash of pumpkin spice syrup)
Sprinkle of cinnamon
How to make it:
Shake everything together with ice and strain into a glass. Top with a pinch of cinnamon and enjoy the taste of Halloween in a glass.

Poison Apple Spritz
Sparkly, fruity and just a little sinister.
What you’ll need:
Apple juice
Prosecco
Splash of blackcurrant cordial
Ice
(Optional) a drop of black food colouring for drama
How to make it:
Add ice to a wine glass, pour in apple juice and a splash of cordial, then top with Prosecco. A cinnamon stick or apple slice on the rim makes it look (and smell) incredible.
The Mocktails (For Kids & Non-Drinkers):

Vampire’s Kiss
Sweet, fizzy and perfect for everyone.
What you’ll need:
Cranberry juice
Lemonade
Squeeze of lime
Dash of grenadine
Mix it all up and drop in a cherry or raspberry to “bleed” into the glass — spooky but tasty.

Monster Mash Fizz
Bright green and full of fun.
What you’ll need:
Lime cordial
Sprite or 7Up
Dash of green food colouring
Gummy worms for garnish
Serve it in a clear glass or jar so that bright green colour shines through. A hit with kids and adults alike.

Ghostly Cream Soda Float
A creamy, fizzy treat that’s more dessert than drink — and guaranteed to get smiles.
What you’ll need:
Vanilla ice cream
Cream soda
Whipped cream
Chocolate syrup (optional for “ghost eyes”)
Scoop some ice cream into a glass, pour over cream soda, top with whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate. Simple, sweet, and spooky.
A Few Easy Halloween Touches
Ice Cube Tricks: Freeze plastic spiders, berries, or gummy sweets into your ice cubes for a cool (and creepy) effect.
Themed Glasses: Use black cups, skull mugs, or mason jars with Halloween straws.
Labels: Write out names like Zombie Juice or Witch’s Brew on tags or stickers for a fun party setup.
Lighting: A few candles or orange fairy lights go a long way to set the scene.
Halloween doesn’t have to be overcomplicated — it’s all about having a laugh, setting the mood, and enjoying a few themed drinks that anyone can make. So grab your shaker (or just a spoon and a jug), throw on your costume, and get mixing.
Cheers to a frightfully good night!
Slán go fóill.
