The Hennessy Hip Hop House at Body & Soul - Cocktails, Hip Hop & More

It’s been at the heart of the hip hop community for decades and marking the celebration of 50 years of Hip Hop in 2023, Hennessy returns with its signature blend to Body & Soul festival from 16-18 June.

A party in the Bronx on August 11th, 1973 is widely considered to be the birthplace of hip-hop. The art form has since touched every corner of our world and evolved into one of the most significant cultural forces today. Hennessy presents a bespoke programme celebrating this incredible milestone at Body & Soul 2023, designed and sculpted with guest curators Stevie G and Arveene Juthan, both of whom hold key roles in the hip-hop and urban music scene in Ireland,

Expect Live Graffiti with Rask & Sums, Breakdance with Northern Souls Crew, Paint & Sip with Simba, and Hip Hop Karaoke. Delve a little deeper into the world of hip hop as Arveene and Stevie chat with some of scene’s biggest names. Arveene hosts ‘The Story of Irish Hip Hop: the Music, the Culture’ on Saturday afternoon with Kojaque, Rask, Glen Brady and a very special guest, while Stevie G takes a look at ‘Hip Hop’s influence in Art, Dance and Fashion’ with Shamon Cassette, Mango, Sums and Paul Ashford of 5th Element on Sunday afternoon. 

The Hennessy Hip Hop House also promises performances by some of the most exciting up and coming artists across the weekend with District Magazine’s Future Of Irish Music. Dray Morgan and Dylan Murphy host chats before Curtisy and Moio take to the stage on Saturday and Qbanaa and DeCarteret on Sunday.

Elsewhere across the weekend, enjoy sets from the best Irish and international hip hop acts and DJs with Kojaque, Fabio & Grooverider and The Outlook Orchestra, and Denise Chaila taking to the Body & Soul stage as part of the Hennessy Music Trail, while the thrills at the Hennessy Hip Hop house includes Gemma Dunleavy, God Knows and MuRli, Celaviedmai, Aby Coulibaly, JYellowL and Sweetlemondae to name a few. • Hennessy VS + Ginger: Hennessy VS served over ice, topped with ginger ale & garnished with a lime wedge.

• Hennessy & Cola: Hennessy VS over ice, topped with cola and garnished with a lime wedge.

• Body & Berries: Hennessy VS mixed with raspberries, balanced with fresh lemon juice and a touch of sugar, topped with ginger ale and a wedge of fresh lime.

• My Miami: Hennessy VS mixed with fresh mint, fresh lemon juice and balanced with a touch of sugar, topped with ginger ale.

• Passion Smash: Hennessy VS stirred with passion fruit puree, balanced with fresh lemon juice and sugar. Topped with elderflower tonic.

• Apple Berry Spritz: Hennessy VS mixed with raspberry & apple cordial.  Topped with raspberry & rhubarb tonic & garnished with fresh lime.
