The National Brown Bread Baking Competition 2025 – Collection Point & Date Reminder

The National Brown Bread Baking Competition, sponsored by Euronics in association with the National Ploughing Association (NPA) and the Irish Countrywomen’s Association (ICA), want to highlight the brown bread collection dates, times and locations.

Bakers from across Ireland are encouraged to offer up their signature brown breads, whether they stick to traditional recipes passed down through generations or add a special twist. The winning brown bread baker will walk away with a cash prize of €5,000 PLUS a NEFF Slide & Hide oven, three finalists on the 18^th win a €500 Euronics gift card and all other finalists get a €250 Euronics gift card and a Neff hamper.

Speaking from experience, last year’s winner, Rose Egan, said today “The competition truly was one of the best experiences ever. I encourage everyone to enter, no matter how skilled you are as a baker. You could be the lucky winner! It’s really as they say – if you’re not in it, you can’t win it!”.

All entrants (one entry per person) are being asked to drop their freshly baked bread to one of the stores below (all part of the Euronics group) on the prescribed dates between 09am – 11am. Bread will NOT be accepted outside of these times. 

All successful entrants will be contacted on August 11^th and invited to attend The National Ploughing Championships Brown Bread Baking Tent.
