This is the latest in the limited edition Beer Cask Series from The Dubliner. This one is Dubliner Irish Whiskey finished in Rascals Brewing 'Old Fashioned' Blonde Ale Beer Casks. Finished in beer barrels once filled with blonde ale brewed with star anise, orange peel and zest, results in a fun whiskey that is bursting with flavour.⠀

The Dubliner has always been a no fuss easy drinking whiskey. A very smooth, creamy whiskey that follows through with plenty of the traditional spices, and this Blonde Ale finish is beautifully sweet with real power to accentuate the flavour profile.⠀

On the nose it's evident where the name comes from here, with an inevitable nod to the classic 'Old Fashioned' cocktail. Plenty of citrus and Orange Zest at first, maple syrup comes through on the taste with a little nut and dark chocolate. The Orange Zest again follows through with the citrus sweetness lingering. I really enjoyed this neat, but it works so well over ice too, a real contender to replacing the Old Fashioned cocktail itself, although that's not it's intention!⠀

Another brilliantly priced release at just €35, via theDLD.com. This really is limited bottling though, only 1,000 bottles are available in the Irish Market so act fast if you want to try it! I thoroughly recommend that you do.
