Currys has today introduced a new way for customers to support its charity partner, My Canine Companion, at the point of purchase by adding microdonations directly into its online checkout journey.
Ireland’s leading specialist electrical retailer has partnered with award-winning fintech charity Pennies to bring its simple “yes or no” donation prompt to its Irish website for the first time.

Until now, customers could only donate when paying via card terminals in store. Expanding the programme online is expected to at least double current fundraising levels, giving more customers the opportunity to contribute in a quick and meaningful way.
The new donation journey mirrors the seamless instore experience, allowing Currys’ website visitors to add a €1 donation with just one click.
The successful launch of online donations was made possible through close collaboration with key suppliers, including LTM, an AI-centric global technology services company, who played a vital role in developing the website's donation functionality.
All funds raised in Ireland will go directly to My Canine Companion, the country’s largest provider of accredited service dogs for children and adults with autism and other disabilities.

“We know just how life-changing the work of our Irish charity partner, My Canine Companion, is. By taking our donation programme online, we’re making it even easier for customers to give and helping us reach more people who can benefit. None of this is possible without the generosity of our customers, and we’re excited to see the impact this expansion will deliver.” - Paula Coughlan, Chief People, Communications and Sustainability Officer at Currys.
Niall Ruddy, co-founder of My Canine Companion commented:
“The news that Curry's customers can now support our charity online as well as in store is very exciting. Through our fantastic partnership with Currys we have been able to improve the lives of thousands of Irish children and families through our autism service dog and school dog programmes. As always, we want to thank all of the Curry's management, staff and customers for their continued support.”
