Dublin’s Newest Bar & Restaurant ‘The Exchange’ Opens in Temple Bar

Built to impress, over a century ago, a grand civic building at the junction of Lord Edward Street and Exchange Street Upper, now houses Dublin’s newest dining destination, The Exchange Bar & Restaurant! On the fringes of Temple Bar towards Christchurch Cathedral, this vibrant, light-filled space is perfect for city centre meet ups for locals and tourists alike, whether relaxing, shopping or enjoying a quick bite before a night on the town. The Exchange Bar & Restaurant will further enhance NYX Hotel Dublin Christchurch’s reputation as one of city’s most appealing and stylish hotel openings of recent years.
Sparked by far-flung flavours, the cuisine at The Exchange is styled as a bold, modern dining experience that celebrates the craft of food, drink, and gathering. From smoky cooked meats to dishes touched by vibrant Asian aromatics or fiery Peruvian notes, the menus are an evolving reflection of cultural exchange. Every plate is made with locally sourced ingredients, reimagined with creativity and care.

With its eclectic, bright interiors and lively bar, The Exchange is more than just a restaurant. Whether you're meeting for business, or gathering with friends, The Exchange invites you to settle in and savour something richer. With a seasonal menu guests can choose from sharing plates and starters, or more substantial main courses. Carefully created by Head Chef, Stuart Heeney and his team, each dish showcases the depth of Ireland’s seasonal produce and a spirit of global curiosity.
Among the starters, guests can enjoy Salmon Tataki (€13.50), seared and citrus cured organic Irish salmon, mango ponzu, wasabi mayo, mango salsa and crisp harumaki pastry, or Katsu-Glazed Baby Back Ribs (€12.95) finished with crispy onions and spicy miso dressing. The Sea Bass Ceviche (€13.95), dressed with passionfruit & coconut tiger’s milk, offers a vibrant kick, while Irish Ham & Leek Croquettes (€12.95) in bechamel, panko breaded, piquillo pepper sauce deliver comfort with a twist.
For mains, hero dishes include, the Pan Roasted North Atlantic Cod with BBQ sweetcorn, crispy sage and prosciutto, smoked knockanore and potato croquettes, aji Amarillo (€26.50), while the Grilled Irish Beef Cheeseburger (€22.95) is elevated with bone marrow and stout-glazed onions, crispy Irish bacon, American mustard mayonnaise, served with skinny hand cut fries. The Peruvian Roast Chicken (€24.95), asador slow-cooked and boldly spiced with a Peruvian marinade, paired with a toasted almond, apricot and red-onion couscous, grilled hispi cabbage with aji verde and feta, and the Rigatoni with Burrata (€21.95),lemon and tarragon butter sauce, garden peas, grilled courgettes, fresh burrata and crispy chilli dressing offers a fresh take for vegetarians.

At the bar, guests can enjoy an extensive selection of handcrafted signature cocktails from fruity favourites like the Elderflower Spritz (€13.50) and Pornstar Martini (€13.50) to bold twists such as the Whiskey & Passion (€13.50), or the zesty Pink Flower (€13.50). The drinks menu also features an impressive collection of wines from around the globe, local and international beers, premium whiskeys, proseccos, champagnes, and non-alcoholic options. Whether it’s a classic Mojito, a chilled glass of Mirabeau rosé, or a top-shelf tequila, The Exchange offers the perfect pour for every occasion.
Tucked just off the main bar, The Vault is The Exchange’s stylish private events space. With its own dedicated entrance on Exchange Street and streaming natural light, The Vault can be exclusively hired for up to 50 guests. Perfect for private dining, business meetings, product launches, or intimate gatherings, this versatile room offers a unique setting that blends privacy with the vibrant atmosphere of The Exchange.
The Exchange will also be home to “Live at The Exchange”, a curated monthly series of live jazz music, featuring a rotating lineup of local talent. A celebration of creativity in all its forms, this offering is designed to elevate the bar & dining experience with rich, soulful sound which will take place on the last Thursday of every month.
