Ever wanted to visit a theme park in the dark? Emerald Park is getting ready to turn up the thrills this Halloween as its highly anticipated Emerald Park After Dark event returns for 2026.

Taking place on 16th, 17th, 18th, 23rd, 24th, 25th and 30th October, guests can take to the night skies and experience 13 attractions under the cover of darkness. Tickets are available now from EmeraldPark.ie.

Making its After Dark debut this year is Swingosaurus, the new family thrill ride located in Lost Valley: Land of Dinosaurs, Emerald Park’s prehistoric adventure land which opened earlier this year. Standing 12 metres above the Lost Valley landscape, Swingosaurus sees riders soar, swing and glide through the air in a dinosaur-themed adventure, combining sweeping motion with immersive prehistoric theming.

Thrill-seekers can dare to ride Europe’s largest inverted wooden rollercoaster, the Cú Chulainn Coaster, or take flight on Endeavour, spin on The Rotator, and race into the dark on Dino Dash, Flight School, Air Race and Power Surge.

Guests can also brave the magical realm of Tír na nÓg, Emerald Park’s fully themed and immersive land, home to Na Fianna Force, The Quest and The Celtic Dreamer, before splashing through the night on the Viking Voyage, which returns to the After Dark line-up for its second year.

Emerald Park After Dark is a no-scare event, making it the perfect opportunity for thrill-seekers to experience some of the park’s biggest attractions in a whole new way. The event runs from 6:30pm - 10pm, with last admission at 8pm.

Guests can refuel between the thrills with food and sweet treats available throughout the evening, including hot meals from The Argentinian Grill, Warrior Kitchen and Base Camp Pizza Co., alongside treats and drinks from Boost, Coffee Dock, Yummy Creations and Tower Café. Before heading home, visitors can also pick up a spooky souvenir from the Emerald Park Gift Shop.

And the Halloween fun doesn’t stop there. Mega Monster Halloween, Emerald Park’s brand-new Halloween event for 2026, will bring even more spooky fun to the park, with a host of Halloween entertainment and activities for families to enjoy.

Running across selected dates throughout October and into November, Mega Monster Halloween will transform the park into a spooktacular family adventure, with live performances, the brand-new Pumpkin Quest, a Halloween-themed live panto show, friendly Halloween character meet-and-greets, themed decorations and photo opportunities.

Little adventurers can set off on the Pumpkin Quest to help Patch the Pumpkin Master find his lost pumpkins, while families can take their seats for Emerald Park’s brand-new Halloween-themed panto, packed with lovable characters, songs and plenty of laughs. The event is designed to deliver all the fun of Halloween without the frights and is included with park admission at no additional cost
