Killowen Distillery announce Exclusive Bottling for Poitín Now

Killowen Distillery have announced that they have an Exclusive Bottling to celebrate the inaugural Poitín Now, that is taking place this November in Dublin.

This exclusive bottling is an 18 day old poitín that has been resting in an Irish Oak Cask. The oak comes from Shanes Castle on the north shore of Lough Neagh, a working Estate consisting of about 800 acres of farmland and about 1000 acres of woodland. The ancient oak tree was felled for health and safety reasons 20 years ago and has been naturally dried out. Killowen then planed the wood themselves and sent this to the cooperage for the cask to be made.

The liquid is their new core mashbill of unmalted and malted barley, oat and rye with 2 bags of peated oat. The flavours and nose that come forward are so vibrant and so spicy and it has acquired both an amazing flavour and colour in such a short period of time.

Check out more about this bottling on the video:

Only 55 Bottles will be available on Saturday 19th November 2022 at Poitín Now on a first come, first serve basis. The 500ml bottle will be priced at €38
