Results from a recent study which involved comparing swabs taken from clean and unclean foundation brushes after two weeks of use to a swab taken from a toilet seat showed that the unclean brushes were found to have more bacteria on them!
The survey conducted by Spectrum Collections found that 40% of respondents only clean their brushes every two weeks. To avoid transferring bacteria back onto the face during make up application cosmetic scientist Carly Musleh advises cleaning brushes more frequently.
