Maharani Gin: A Flavour Fusion from Kerala to Cork

Introducing Maharani Gin - A fusion of two creative cultures, Maharani is a gin of transcendent taste, celebrating it's founders’ roots; hand crafted in Cork, Ireland, with botanicals from Kerala, India.

Founders Robert and Bhagya Barrett combined their distinct backgrounds of Cork and Kerala respectively, as well as their expertise to create a truly original gin with a balanced mix of spice, citrus and sweetness. The premium gin is zested with pomelo fruit, and uniquely spiced with cassia and nutmeg-mace, all sourced from a women’s organic farming co-operative in Bhagya’s home state of Kerala, India. This heady combination results in a gin of transcendental taste, a liberation of spirit and spice. Maharani Gin pays homage to Kerala women who are known for their strength and importance in society. The word ‘Maharani’, meaning Queen, is a tribute to revolutionary women everywhere. Speaking about the launch, Co-Founder Robert Barrett said, “We are really excited to finally introduce Maharani Gin to the world! To be able to bring our cultures and expertise together to create something unique has been an incredible experience and we’re looking forward to an exciting future for Maharani.” A multi-award-winning gin, Maharani achieved five titles in it's first year on the market: Silver in The London Spirits Awards, bronze in the Craft Spirits Berlin, gold in The Gin Masters, bronze in the IWSC and most recently silver at Blas na hEireann.

Maharani gin is best served with premium tonic, grapefruit and mint leaves for an unforgettable sensorial experience of flora and spice.

However when it comes to entertaining this Christmas, forget the simple tonic serves and spice up your sip with one of Maharani’s distinctive serves and the ideal food pairing savoury snack, Cornflakes Chivda.
