Make a Better Start every day with Two delicious recipes from Linwoods

Linwoods Health Foods are encouraging you to Make a Better Start Every Day this January, starting with feeling your body with Linwoods Health Foods!

With the turn of the new year many people will be considering taking on or continuing to make positive lifestyle choices and Linwoods want to make that a little easier every day!


To celebrate Making a Better Start Every Day Linwoods have created a TWO  of delicious recipes:


Banana Baked Oats

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Servings: 4 - 6

Ingredients

• 200g jumbo oats

• 400ml non dairy milk of choice

• 1 ripe banana, mashed

• 1 tsp baking powder

• 2 heaped tbsp Linwoods Almonds, Brazil Nuts, Walnuts and CoQ10 milled flaxseed

• 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)

• 2 tbsp maple syrup

• 1 ripe banana, sliced, for topping

Directions

1. Grease an oven safe dish, either 8x8 or 9x5 with coconut oil or vegan butter.

2. Mix together all the ingredients in a large bowl, aside from the banana for topping!

3. Place into the prepared dish. Top with sliced banana. Bake for 30 minutes in your preheated oven. Allow to cool in the oven safe dish. I like to allow them to cool fully before slicing. The longer they cool, the more solid the slice you can create.

4. Top with dairy free coconut yoghurt, cacao nibs and some peanut butter if desired.

5. Store in the fridge for up to three days for a grab and go breakfast or snack.


Apple Oat Muffins

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Servings: 8 - 10 muffins

Ingredients

• 120g plain flour

• 40g wholewheat flour

• 30g porridge oats

• 1 tsp baking powder

• ½ tsp baking soda

• 2 tbsp Linwoods Milled Flaxseed

• 100ml oat milk or non dairy milk of choice

• 80g apple puree

• 80g coconut oil, melted*

• ½ tsp cinnamon

• 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

1. Preheat your oven to 180C (350F).

2. Mix together the flours, oats, baking powder, soda, flax and cinnamon in a large bowl.

3. Whisk together the milk, apple puree, coconut oil or oil of choice and vanilla in a jug.

4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Whisk to combine. Divide the mixture up into 8 - 10 muffin cases filling them ¾ of the way.

5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.

6. Allow to cool for 5 minutes in the tray before transferring to a wire rack to cool fully.

*Or vegan butter OR light tasting olive oil or avocado oil
