I'm using an Irish Whiskey to make a Smokey Robinson opposed to a Bourbon, with the highly decorated Single Grain from Teeling Whiskey.

Ingredients;

🄃40ml Teeling Whiskey Single Grain

šŸø20ml Dos Hombres Mezcal

šŸ20ml Maple-Spiced Syrup*

šŸ‹20ml Fresh Lemon Juice .

*to make the Syrup;

Ingredients;

• 1/2 Cup Maple syrup

• 1/2 Cup Water

• 2 Star Anise

• 2 Cinnamon Sticks

• 5 Whole Cloves

In a small pot/saucepan, add all of the syrup ingredients.

Bring to a boil and turn off the heat. Cover and let stand for at least 30 mins, then strain into a clean container.

This syrup will keep for up to 3 weeks and serve 10 cocktails

To make the cocktail;

In a cocktail shaker or well sealed jar/container.. combine whiskey, mezcal, maple-spiced syrup and lemon juice. Add ice and shake well. Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass and garnish with lemon twist and enjoy!

A simple enough cocktail to put together, with fairly easily accessible ingredients, that results in a very tasty serve!

SlÔn go fóill,

Danny
