As a new sponsor of this brilliant festival, Paddy Power wanted to support to some of the talented Comedy Clubs across Dublin. On each day of the Paddy Power Comedy Festival, local comedy clubs will be hosted as part of the programme on one of the stages - The Free Gaff. Festival Director Bren Berry said: “We feel it is important to support & champion the local Comedy clubs at the festival as they are lifeblood of live comedy.” The clubs that will be involved are: 1. The Comedy Crunch (associated with The Stags Head) 2. Cherry Comedy (associated with Whelan’s) 3. The Comedy Cellar (associated with The International) 4. Hysteria (associated with Sin É) They will have the opportunity to showcase a number of their best performers to ‘stand-up’ in front of a 200 strong audience. And with current ticket sales already exceeding the same date in 2019, they’re sure to be performing to a packed house! The Idea: For every ticket sold for The Free Gaff stage featuring a ‘Comedy Club’, Paddy Power will match it's price in funding for that comedy club. This will allow those clubs to finance more gigs, creating more opportunities for aspiring comedians to perform and hone their talent in front of a live audience. Comedy Clubs are being encouraged to promote their shows ahead of the Festival because more tickets sold and bums on seats, means more funding for their club!

Irish company Paddy Power, part of the global group Flutter Entertainment, have engaged in a significant investment as title sponsors for the event. Paddy Power Marketing & Brand Director Michelle Spillane explained: “We are immensely proud of this sponsorship, and particularly thrilled as a Dublin headquartered company to support Aiken in their quest to make sure this festival didn’t just make a comeback, but that it’s kicked to the top of the calendar of social events this summer where it belongs.”Those familiar with Paddy Power will know that as an entertainment brand, comedy is in our DNA. We lean heavily on our funny bone in everything we do. Engagement with this industry is already a key part of our business, and we see this sponsorship as a great fit. Waiting two years to share this news has made us even more determined to ensure The Paddy Power Comedy Festival is bigger, better and most definitely greener than ever before.” Tickets for the Paddy Power Comedy Festival, which is a strictly over 18s only event, are on sale now and are sold on a show-by-show basis.
