Powerscourt Distillery is proud to reveal its second release in the Estate Series, 'The Italian Gardens'.

This limited Edition Blended Fercullen Irish Whiskey Amarone cask influence will be available from June 20th 2022 with an RSP of €75

This year Powerscourt Distillery is paying an homage to the inspirational “Italian Gardens” the centrepiece of the World renowned Powerscourt Gardens, voted 3rd best Gardens in the World by National Geographic. In 2021 the first in the Estate Series was released and named to give a nod of respect to their Fercullen brand home - the near-300-year-old mill house. ‘The Mill House’ sold out in a few short weeks, it is anticipated that expression two will be in high demand. Delivering a harmonious partnership of visionary design & the perfection of nature. Powerscourt Distillery’s New Head of Whiskey & Product Development John Cashman, a recipient of an Icons of Whisky award and an International Wine & Spirits Judge, has worked in multiple distilleries under the Beam Suntory umbrella.

Having worked alongside the Distillery’s founding Master Distiller Noel Sweeney for many years at Cooley, John preserves unique knowledge on Fercullen whiskeys, old & new and combined an exceptional Fercullen 19YO Malt with an Italian influenced Amarone cask finish, skilfully blended with a very special 12YO Grain Irish Whiskey, delivering an exceptional whiskey. Having established its core range of award-winning Fercullen Irish Whiskeys – 8 yr. old blend, 10 yr. old Single Grain, 14 yr. old Single Malt and 18 yr. old Single Malt, Powerscourt Distillery add to their range with the Estate Series with the launch of the second edition “The Italian Gardens”. RSP €75 and is available from June 20th 2022.

Tasting Notes Nose: Abundance of fruit, cherry, fig, and marmalade with sweet hints of lemonade and cream soda. Taste: Soft grain sweetness with mouth filling honey and lemon give way to a light malt spice. Finish: Long and fruity with a pleasant coating of summer fruit oils. Non-chill filtered and bottled at 46% ABV, it is the second in the “Estate Series”.
