The Republic of Oud, a new luxury fragrance destination celebrating the world’s most precious perfume ingredient, has officially opened its doors in the heart of Cork.

He’s now back home in Cork, finally chasing a long-held dream: launching a boutique perfumery inspired by the traditions surrounding oud, one of the world’s rarest and most precious perfume ingredients, treasured for centuries across many cultures. Republic of Oud opened today in the Winthrop Arcade, and Alan has been working with master perfumers from Grasse and Dubai to bring it to life.

Oud, sometimes called “liquid gold,” is now driving a billion-euro global boom, with everyone from Tom Ford to Dior launching oud-based collections. It has even made its way into the wardrobes of stars like Drake (who wears Arabian Oud’s Kalemat), Angelina Jolie, and David Beckham.

Republic of Oud is introducing this centuries-old scent tradition to Irish audiences through a carefully curated selection of some of the world’s most celebrated oud-based fragrances.

The Cork boutique showcases exceptional brands including Arabian Oud, Ajmal, Areej Le Doré, Monreale, Kajal Perfumes Paris, and Sora Dora, offering Irish customers an exclusive opportunity to explore the artistry, storytelling, and cultural heritage of oud.

Among the highlights:

  • Amir Two by Ajmal is a regal, complex composition of floral, spicy, and ambery oud notes

  • Kalemat by Arabian Oud is a warm, sophisticated blend of Saffron, blueberry, honey, and musk

  • Gladiator by Sora Dora is a bold and invigorating extrait featuring grapefruit, Egyptian geranium, and vetiver

  • Ancient tales inspire 1001 Nights by Monreale with exotic spices, oud, and warm amber

  • Dahab by Kajal is a hypnotic blend of passion fruit, cedar, and sensual musk

  • Limited editions from Areej Le Doré handcrafted masterpieces are highly prized by collectors & fragrance aficionados

Republic of Oud also offers tailored fragrance consultations and a summer gifting edit to help shoppers mark life’s special moments with the power of scent.

Alan Coakley, Founder of Republic of Oud, commented, “Our mission is to open people’s minds and noses to one of the world’s most incredible scent traditions. Oud is more than perfume; it’s a cultural experience, and we’re proud to bring this to Ireland through a beautiful, welcoming space in Cork.”

Republic of Oud Cork is now open at Winthrop Arcade, Cork. Customers can explore the full range in-store or browse highlights online at www.republicofoud.com
