Simple Sugar Cookies | Recipe

If you're looking for an easy, no fuss recipe to get the kids involved in some baking, them look no further than these Simple Sugar Cookies. We made some of these during the Home Schooling, but they’re also perfect for a Saturday morning or rainy afternoon.

They’re very easy to make, with minimal ingredients, a simple recipe that kids will love making.. and you'll love eating!⠀⠀

⠀⠀

Ingredients:⠀

• Sugar (2 3rd of a Cup)⠀⠀

• Flour (2 cups plain/all purposes)⠀⠀

• Butter - room temperature (1 cup)⠀⠀

• Vanilla Extract (teaspoon) optional but recommended ⠀⠀

• Rainbow/Chocolate sprinkles, again optional but recommended⠀⠀

Method:

• Preheat oven to 170 degrees. Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper.⠀⠀

• In a medium bowl, using a handheld electric mixer, beat together butter and sugar until combined. I soften the butter in the microwave for 30 seconds, that's optional but it works for me.⠀⠀

• Add in flour and blend well (then blend in the vanilla, if using.)⠀⠀

• Using a scoop or spoon, roll the dough into roughly 1-inch balls.⠀⠀

• Using the bottom of a glass or spoon, press down on the balls to flatten. ⠀⠀

• Make sure there is enough space between the cookies as they will expand when baking ⠀

• Top with some sprinkles if using any, (kids love that part!) and lightly press down again just so they stick. ⠀⠀

• Bake for 14-16 minutes until just slightly golden around the edges and on the bottom.⠀⠀

• Remove form the oven and let them cool for at least 10-15 minutes (don't skip this step!) ⠀⠀

⠀⠀

You could also use chocolate chips instead of sprinkles, just push them into the dough a little.⠀

Enjoy! Let me know if you make them.
