Introducing: Tribe Irish Gin. A premium, small batch craft gin, Tribe Irish Gin is inspired by Galway, the city of the Tribes and ingredients local to the west of Ireland along with a blend of citrus and spice to give the gin its unique flavour.
Using all natural ingredients with no added sugars, flavours or preservatives, Tribe Gin uses locally sourced seaweed and botanicals native to the West coast along with lemon, heather, cassia and cardamom to create the distinctive blend.
Developed in March 2021 by four Galway natives, Tribe Irish Gin came to life in the throes of a global pandemic. Founded by long-time friends and proud Tribesmen, Adam Scally, Cormac Commins, Ciarán O’Domhnaill and Michael Allen, the vision for the brand came together during lockdown, when time was on their side. Their vision was to create a gin that would appeal to the modern day ‘tribal beat’ of the city, a nod to the original 14 Galway Tribes who had enormous influence in society and wealth. Coming from different backgrounds and having worked all over the world from San Francisco, California to Sydney, Australia, the intention was always to return to Galway someday to set up the business. This plan was expedited as a result of the pandemic as they were forced into new circumstances that brought them all back to their native Galway. Each bringing their varying skills to the table, a plan for Tribe Gin was formed as they embarked on a new journey studying the distilling process and formulating the perfect blend with a nod to their native county. Speaking about the launch, Co-Founder Adam Scally said, “It was during the months of lockdown that the four of us came together and developed the idea to launch a gin brand in Galway as well as the city's first Gin School.” “We wanted our gin brand to showcase some ingredients local to the West of Ireland, while the Gin School would underpin the fun, exciting and creative aspect of the City of the Tribes!” Tribe Gin is distilled at the award-winning Listoke Distillery, where they worked closely with the team at Listoke to hone the recipe with its unique blend of native Galway botanicals and seaweed. A first for Galway, Tribe Gin School which is set to launch in early 2022, will offer guests a unique experience in Galway to learn about the distilling process, sample the delicious taste of Tribe Gin as well as an opportunity to create and distil their own personal bottle to bring home.
