A special 13-year-old Dingle Single Malt with a romantic story behind it has arrived just in time for the Christmas gifting season. Named Honeymoon, the limited-edition whiskey was born when a couple on their honeymoon in Ireland took an unexpected detour into the world of Irish whiskey.

A honeymoon detour in Dingle

In summer 2013, Matthias and Annika were travelling along the Wild Atlantic Way on their honeymoon when they spotted Dingle Distillery near the River Milltown roundabout. Curiosity got the better of them, and after circling the roundabout three times, they decided to investigate.

Although the distillery was not yet open to visitors, a member of staff welcomed them for a personal tour and introduced them to its Founding Fathers Programme. The couple filled a cask there and then, giving it the fitting name HONEYMOON.

Thirteen years later, that cask has been bottled, turning a memorable stop on their honeymoon into a limited-edition Irish whiskey with a story that comes all the way from the west coast of Ireland.

Just 160 bottles available

The Dingle Founding Fathers Honeymoon 13 Year Old Single Cask No. 161 is bottled exclusively for Irishmalts.com, with only 160 bottles available. Matured for 13 years in a single bourbon cask, it is a triple-distilled single malt presented at 58.8% ABV cask strength and is non-chill filtered.

Each 70cl bottle comes in a wooden presentation box printed with Matthias and Annika’s love story, making the release a distinctive option for whiskey collectors and anyone looking for a memorable engagement, wedding or Christmas gift.

Priced at €196.80, Honeymoon is on sale now through Irishmalts.com. With just 160 bottles released and early access already offered to existing customers and the waiting list, availability may be limited.
