Last week, Two Stacks Irish whiskey delightedly announced the official launch of TWO STACKS IRISH WHISKEY – SMOKE & MIRRORS (abv 48%)
Uniquely this batch 1, was hand-bottled & bonded at Killowen Distillery, Co. Down. In the coming months, they will be releasing Single Cask variations on the Smoke & Mirrors core whiskey.
This Single Malt release contains only 30% triple distilled peated malt to bring in the smoke element to the liquid, mixing gently with with the sweetness from the remaining mashbill of 10% double distilled malt, and 60% stout malt (triple distilled malt finished in ex imperial Irish stout barrels)
Tasting Notes:
Nose: An engaging nose, a fresh summers day of honeydew, sweet barely, rhubarb, peach skin all layered in sticky toffee, encased in subtle peat notes Palate: a soft yet intense mouthful, an almost honey-like sweetness from the peat but not overpowering, white fruit richness lunging from the depths. Finish: a medium finish of white chocolate, peppered clove, almond with a lingering touch of spice This is a non-chill filtered expression, with no added colouring. Priced at €49.95, this bottling is available to buy on Irishmalts.com Slán go fóill,
