Wildlands in Galway to Open 14 Log Cabins This Week

Situated just ten minutes from Galway city, Wildlands is unique indoor and outdoor adventure centre located in twenty acres of mature woodland. A family business run by brother sister duo David and Faye Bohan who said “We are very excited to bring this new part of the business to life offering luxury self-catering accommodation in the heart of Galway”.

Wildlands offers fourteen unique, architecturally designed detached cabins. The cabins were designed by local architect Associated Design Ltd in Moycullen and many local suppliers and tradesmen worked on the cabins over the past 12 months. There are five different types – studio cabins, two bed family cabin, large studio cabins, large studio cabins with kids room and a large accessible cabin for those with mobility issues.

All cabins are open plan and have rustic antique details including exposed rafts and outdoor decking to enjoy those long summer West of Ireland nights!! The interiors reflect the natural landscape – muted colours such as sage green and ochre are used throughout the cabins including furnishings and tiles. Each cabin is cosy and comfortable allowing guests to enjoy their time in the City of Tribes no matter what the weather is like outside!

No two cabins are the same in design however all cabins have a fully fitted country style kitchen including the best kitchen appliances such as Smeg fridge freezers, the always popular Nespresso coffee machine (pods included!) and the most important appliance on holiday – a Belling dishwasher because who wants to wash crockery/cutlery on holiday! The living areas all include a Normende Smart TV with 44 channels and Netflix. Just add popcorn for the perfect night in!

All cabins have stoves to ensure the cosy cabin experience and plenty of games for those that like a bit of competition! And for those that know their constellations some of the cabins have roof lights for star gazing.

All cabins are located a minute’s walk from Wildlands’ adventure hub and the award winning Olive Tree Kitchen where the Bohan’s belief in sustainability is carried through in the use of reclaimed wood and upcycled materials, much of which was sourced from salvage yards throughout Ireland. Environmental sustainability is core to Wildlands and architects Associated Design Ltd and planning consultants MKO worked closely with the management team to ensure environmental impact was kept to a minimum. David Bohan said “Our goal is to make Wildlands the number one adventure destination in Ireland and we will continue to invest in the business and our dedicated team”.

Wildlands opened its doors to the public on August 7th, 2020 and has something for everyone of all ages with plenty of indoor and outdoor activities to choose from. For the nature lovers, adventurers and hikers Wildands is less than an hour’s drive from the beautiful mountain ranges of Connemara.

Faye Bohan said this week “We have been working so hard over the past twelve months to deliver we believe something special to guests. At full capacity we can welcome seventy two guests to the fourteen cabins and we look forward to a really busy season at Wildlands”.

Fourteen stunning open plan log cabins, situated in the heart of Wildlands in Moycullen, Co Galway will today, Monday February 13th be available for breaks, see www.wildlands.ie for more information on cabin styles.
