OAKBERRY, the world’s #1 açaí brand, has opened a new location at the Pavilions Shopping Centre in Swords, one of Dublin’s busiest retail destinations. The new opening is located within the SuperValu store in the centre and will serve the brand’s signature organic açaí bowls, smoothies, specialty coffees and more in its popular grab and go format.

The launch marks the next major Irish expansion for OAKBERRY following the brand’s recent opening in Cork city in December, and continues the rapid growth of the Brazilian superfood brand across the country. The Swords location represents OAKBERRY Ireland’s 11th store opening in just over two years since the brand first launched in Dublin. With more than 10 million visitors annually, the Pavilions is one of the largest retail hubs in north Dublin, home to over 90 global and Irish brands and just minutes from Dublin Airport.

The move into Swords also places OAKBERRY at the heart of one of Ireland’s fastest growing communities. With a population now of over 40,000 residents, Swords is now the eighth largest urban area in the country and continues to expand as more people relocate to the area due to its proximity to Dublin Airport, excellent amenities and major business parks.

Swords is equally known for its highly fitness and health conscious community. The suburb is home to more than half a dozen gyms, boutique training studios and personal training facilities, one of the highest concentrations within a single Dublin suburb, reflecting a strong culture of health and active living. This makes the area a natural fit for OAKBERRY’s mission of delivering convenient, nutritious food on the go, with the brand’s customisable bowls, smoothies and protein rich toppings increasingly popular with gym goers and health focused consumers across Ireland.

Speaking about today’s opening, Nick Twomey, Managing Director and Co-Founder of OAKBERRY Ireland, said: “Opening within SuperValu at the Pavilions in Swords is a hugely exciting opportunity for us. SuperValu is well known for its fresh food offering, making it a natural fit and a perfect alignment with both our brand and our customers. It’s one of the busiest shopping centres in the country, with millions of visitors every year, and it sits right at the centre of a very active and health conscious community.”

Swords has become one of Dublin’s fastest growing towns and we know there is a strong appetite here for healthier food options that are also quick and convenient. That’s exactly what OAKBERRY is about, healthy fast food that’s delicious, customisable and ready in minutes.”

He continued: “Our flagship Dublin store on South Anne Street continues to hold the title of the number one performing OAKBERRY in all of Europe, which is remarkable considering the brand now operates hundreds of stores across the continent. People just love OAKBERRY so much! It almost has a cult-like following. In fact, our Anne St location remains within the top five performing OAKBERRY stores globally, so Ireland has proven to be an incredibly strong market for the brand. With the continued growth we’re seeing across the country, bringing OAKBERRY to Swords was a natural next step for us.”

Fellow OAKBERRY Ireland owner Alvin Galligan added: “Swords is a fantastic location for OAKBERRY. It’s a vibrant community with a huge number of people focused on fitness and wellbeing, and the Pavilions itself attracts millions of shoppers every year. We’re also really excited to be continuing our partnership with SuperValu through this new opening, bringing OAKBERRY’s healthy, convenient offering to even more customers.

Whether someone is finishing a workout, grabbing something quick between meetings, or refuelling after a long day of shopping, OAKBERRY offers a fresh, healthy fast food alternative that fits perfectly into modern lifestyles.”

The new Swords location will also feature OAKBERRY’s newly launched Hazelnut Choco Cream topping, which debuted across Ireland last week. The indulgent (without the calories!) new addition contains 7.4g of protein per serving and no added sugar, offering customers a healthier alternative to traditional chocolate spreads while delivering the same rich flavour.
