All Aboard Whiskey on the Tracks - a First Class Whiskey Journey.

Whiskey on the Tracks is a new, innovative rail tour that offers a unique day out for whiskey enthusiasts, steam enthusiasts and for those that just fancy something different.

Founded in 2022 by David O’Connell, Whiskey on the Tracks offers guests the opportunity to enjoy whiskey tasting from some of the top distilleries in the country, including Irish Distillers Limited, Glendalough Distillery and more.

The tasting for each journey is curated by David and the distillery representative. These whiskeys are made all the more enjoyable by sitting back in a vintage carriage, taking in the sights of the countryside, to the inimitable soundtrack of steam locomotive No. 85, Merlin and good company.

Whiskey on the Tracks is run in association with the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland (R.P.S.I). The society runs vintage steam excursions year-round and Whiskey on the Tracks takes a carriage on these excursions.

The inaugural Whiskey on the Tracks took place on 26th March last. While on board guests were treated to a specially selected flight of Irish Whiskey curated by Irish Distiller’s, Gerard Garland. The theme was railway connected Irish whiskeys.

The next Whiskey on the Tracks will be on 29th May. Guests will be transported from Dublin Connolly to Maynooth and return while tasting a flight of three whiskeys curated by David and Matthew Smyth of Irish Distillers. Tickets for this event are now sold out, but tickets will shortly go on sale for: Dublin – Kilkenny - return 21st August 2022

Further journeys will be added in the coming weeks with the addition of journeys from Belfast Lanyon also planned.

Speaking of the launch of Whiskey on the Tracks, Founder David O’Connell said: "I'm delighted to be able to team up with the R.S.P.I and Representatives from various Irish Distilleries to bring whiskey and steam train enthusiasts alike, a unique experience to sit back and enjoy the sights of the country, on a locomotive, while sipping some of the finest whiskey the country has to offer. I look forward to welcoming everyone aboard!"
