Have you mastered the art of sourdough or are you know for baking the best soda bread? If so, get ready to knead, bake and rise to the challenge because ALDI has the competition for you.
ALDI is delighted to announce the launch of Rise with ALDI, a competition aimed at finding the best amateur bread bakers* across Ireland and giving one lucky winner the chance to have their fresh bread stocked in ALDI stores nationwide from January 2025.
How does the competition work?
So how does it all work? Entrants are invited to bake a loaf of bread of their choice and submit it for consideration by dropping it to their closest ALDI bread collection point on the 26th and 27th of June. From sourdough to soda bread, ciabatta to white bread, ALDI welcomes your delicious creations!
Following an adjudication process, three finalists will be invited to take part in the live final at Airfield Estate in Co. Dublin on September 3rd. One lucky baker will be crowned Rise with ALDI’s Top Bread Baker, and their winning bread will be stocked in 161 ALDI stores nationwide.
Rugby star turned baker Jonny Murphy, otherwise known as The Hungry Hooker on Instagram, will be on hand to offer his expert opinion as a celebrity judge alongside Laurence Kelly, Buying Director at ALDI. Once again, renowned TV and Radio Broadcaster, Síle Seoige, teams up with ALDI to host this year’s live final of Rise with ALDI.
Speaking at the launch, Jonny Murphy, Rise with ALDI judge, said: “As a keen baker myself, I am thrilled to be a judge of the new bread baking Rise with ALDI competition. Through my Instagram, I know how passionate Irish people are when it comes to baking and this competition represents a once in a lifetime opportunity for amateur bakers.
