As the Australian Open serves up the first Grand Slam of 2026, Decathlon Ireland is launching the Kuikma Unrupt Pro, a new high-performance tennis shoe built for players who demand durability, stability and comfort from the first rally of the season to the last.

Designed under the mantra “Play without holding back”, the Unrupt Pro is the latest release from Kuikma, Decathlon’s tennis signature brand. It has been engineered to endure the physical demands of modern tennis, allowing players to forget about their equipment and focus fully on the game.

Built for the intensity of the modern game:

To understand the real demands placed on tennis footwear, Decathlon’s design teams travelled across Europe, meeting players on courts in France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. Their focus was on players with high-impact footwork, those who slide, brake hard and push their shoes to the absolute limit.

It was through this extensive on-court testing, combined with intensive short and long-term durability trials, that the Kuikma Unrupt Pro was developed. Tested by a wide range of players and movement styles, the shoe proved its ability to withstand heavy wear in all conditions.

Total durability from outsole to upper:

Durability sits at the heart of the Unrupt Pro’s design. The shoe features RUBLAST technology combined with a dual-density sole architecture, concentrating thicker, denser material in high-friction zones to significantly slow abrasion. Protection continues through the upper, with a reinforced rubber forefoot, hidden laces to prevent breakage, and added ankle protection to support aggressive and extreme lateral movement.

Less impact, more intensity:

Comfort and stability have been specifically tailored to tennis movements. A TPU side reinforcement locks the foot securely in place during lateral sprints, while and EVA midsole absorbs impact and protect joints during long, intense rallies.

The result is what the Kuikma team describes as “flexible armour” – a shoe that supports and secures the foot without ever restricting movement.

Feels like day one, match after match:

A spokesperson from the Kuikma design said: “With Unrupt Pro, we wanted to create something for players who push their equipment to the limit. The goal is simple: the only thing that should wear down on the court is your opponent.”
