Tesco Ireland has launched a new Irish beef range with lower product carbon footprints, the Bright Meat Company, offering shoppers high quality, affordable beef products with individual carbon footprints independently verified by the Carbon Trust.
The new Bright Meat Company range carries the internationally recognised Carbon Trust Footprint label, helping customers make more informed choices at the shelf. According to independently verified data, the carbon footprint of Bright Meat Company Irish fillet steak is 23% lower than the equivalent Irish market comparator fillet steak.Â
Developed by Tesco in partnership with Irish food producer Kepak, beef for the range is sourced from the Twenty20 Beef Club – a producer group of Irish farmers supplying cattle through Kepak’s and Tirlán’s integrated beef supply chain. The aim is to combine great-tasting Irish beef with greater transparency around environmental impact, without compromising on quality or value.
The range brings together steak cuts and everyday family staples, catering for everything from midweek meals to weekend cooking. Products include 30-day matured striploin, ribeye and fillet steaks, alongside lean mince, burgers, meatballs, and roasting joints.
Highlights of the range include:Â
Â
Bright Meat Company Salt & Cracked Black Pepper 2 Irish Beef Quarter Pounders 227g - €4.00
Bright Meat Company 30 Day Matured Thick Cut Irish Beef Ribeye Steak 280g - €10.99
Bright Meat Company 5% Fat Lean Irish Beef Mince 500g - €6.50
Bright Meat Company Irish Beef Eye of Round Roast Joint 650g - €12.50
By combining provenance, flavour and independently verified carbon footprint information, the Bright Meat Company range reflects growing consumer interest in understanding how food is produced, while still prioritising taste and value.
The Bright Meat Company range is available now in Tesco stores nationwide and online at Tesco.ie.
