German Doner Kebab (GDK), the globally acclaimed quick service restaurant (QSR) brand known for its innovative menu and redefinition of the kebab experience, will open its first restaurant in Ireland at Liffey Valley Shopping Centre on Monday, 1st December. To celebrate, 500 customers across the first week will receive a free kebab and exclusive limited-edition merch, including a designer-inspired tote bag!

German Doner Kebab isn’t just serving kebabs; it’s serving the redefined & reimagined kebab that Irish consumers have been waiting for. With a mission to flip the script on the kebab experience, GDK is a brand that speaks directly to the Gen Z in-crowd, rooted in music, sport, & pop culture, who want their food to fuel them throughout their busy and multifaceted lives, whether it's post gym session, a casual lunch with mates or a tasty post work debrief.
The brand’s menu brings serious flavour and zero compromise; offering freshly grilled premium lean meats, unique toasted waffle bread, and handmade signature sauces that hit all the right notes. From the iconic OG Kebab, packed with rich, succulent fillings, to the Boss Box and the famed Doner Boxes loaded with perfectly seasoned meats, crisp salad, and indulgent sauces, every hero item delivers depth of flavour in every bite, all encased within signature GDK packaging. Each kebab is made freshly to order, catering perfectly to a health-conscious, convenience loving generation that refuses to settle for the ordinary.

GDK’s ‘Kebabs. Done Right.’ movement has already gone global, with over 170 restaurants now open across the UK, Sweden, North America, and the Middle East, powered by primary investors True and Hero Brands.
As the brand celebrates its most recent launch, the 150th UK restaurant in Leeds, GDK has set its sights on Ireland and is ready to bring its bold, flavour-packed, culturally tuned-in experience to a brand-new audience. And with 30 stores planned within the coming years, GDK is planning to embed itself within Irish culture for the foreseeable.
Simon Wallis, CEO, German Doner Kebab, says:
“As we launch Ireland’s first German Doner Kebab, our vision is clear, to bring a fresh energy to Ireland’s food scene, elevating the kebab experience, one kebab, done right, at a time.. We’re excited to begin that journey in Liffey Valley, a landmark destination that perfectly captures Dublin’s vibrant culture and community spirit. Our partnership with The Strava Group, who know our brand inside out, will help us deliver something truly special. Together, we’re ready to make GDK a new favourite in Ireland and a key part of everyday life for kebab lovers across the country.”
Rickey Sharma, Director of the Strava Group, says:
“This opening marks an exciting new chapter for German Doner Kebab. Liffey Valley is the perfect home for our first Irish restaurant as it's a space full of energy, just like GDK itself. We look forward to introducing Dubliners to our fresh, premium take on the kebab, and becoming part of the city’s cultural heartbeat. From an employer’s perspective, we are proud to say that we have hired 40 employees for our inaugural store, with up to 150 roles across Ireland planned within the next year. This is just the beginning of what promises to be an incredible journey for GDK in Ireland.”
