As part of its commitment to supporting Irish producers, ALDI is delighted to stock Christmas trees grown by Christy Kavanagh and his family in Co. Wicklow. The Kavanaghs have been growing trees in the Wicklow Mountains for seventy years. Each tree spends four years growing in a nursery before being planted outside, and carefully hand-pruned to ensure a perfect conical shape.
Speaking about his ongoing partnership with ALDI, Christy Kavanagh, from Glendarragh, said: “Over the last 70 years, my family has grown Christmas Trees in the Wicklow Mountains. Our Nordmann Firs are famous for their, soft dark needles, great needle-holding ability, and beautiful, natural shape. We are proud to be suppliers of ALDI this season and hopefully for many years to come. We hope people around Ireland enjoy having our Christmas trees in their homes this festive season”.
