With St Patrick’s Day celebrations beginning soon across Ireland and around the world, Boann Distillery is inviting whiskey lovers to celebrate with one of Ireland’s most distinctive and iconic styles - Single Pot Still Irish whiskey.

Using locally sourced grains from nearby farms, the Meath distillery’s three Single Pot Still whiskeys are crafted with a mash bill that combines malted and unmalted barley alongside oats and rye - an approach not widely seen in Irish whiskey production for more than 50 years.

The distillery’s brewing system - featuring both a mash conversion vessel and a lauter tun - is one of the only purpose-built systems in Ireland designed to efficiently process the unmalted grains essential to Single Pot Still whiskey production.

Each expression is matured in a variety of casks - Marsala, Madeira and Pedro Ximinéz - imparting each spirit with a distinct flavour profile.

The resulting spirits are rich in character, flavour and texture that reflects both Ireland’s distilling heritage and the fertile farmland of the Boyne Valley.

“Every raw ingredient we use is 100 per cent natural and locally sourced,” says Pat Cooney, founder of Boann Distillery. “Our barley comes from local farmers and every drop of water is drawn from our well in the Boyne Valley.”

Alongside its whiskeys, Boann is also celebrating St Patrick’s Day with The Whistler Irish Cream - the first Irish cream liqueur in the world to use Single Pot Still Irish whiskey spirit in its blend. Combining fresh cream from grass-fed Irish cows with Boann’s Single Pot Still spirit, the result is a rich, indulgent Irish cream boasting one of the highest cream contents, highest whiskey percentages and highest alcohol levels in its category.

All are available on boanndistillery.ie, with 10% off at checkout from now until March 17th (code SPRING10) to mark St Patrick’s Day.

The Single Pot Still whiskey will retail for €62.98 (normally €69.95) while the Whistler Irish Cream is €33.25 (normally €36.95).
