Ahead of World Dream Day tomorrow (25th September), Respa, Ireland’s leading mattress and pillow brand, is delving into the science behind dreams, how often people remember them, people’s weirdest dreams, and how the quality of sleep can affect the experience.

Recent studies show that almost half (45%) of people say they always or often remember their dreams, while around one in five report they rarely or never remember them. (40%)of people say they remember at least one dream each week, and research into sleep patterns reveals that disrupted or poor-quality sleep is linked with more frequent dream recollection and often more vivid or unsettling dream content.

On average, a person will naturally have four or five dreams a night, and Dr Neil Stanley, Independent Sleep Expert, remarks, "Anything that improves your sleep will reduce the number of dreams that you experience” , highlighting the importance of a comfortable sleep.

To bring this to life, some of the strangest dreams from celebrities include: going to the toilet - as according to Buzzfeed, Cole Sprouse tweeted about the joys of peeing during a dream and waking up "as dry as the Mojave". Troye Sivan revealed "I had a dream that the queen was my nan, and I was like 'why don’t I make a bigger deal about the queen being my nan". Miley Cyrus also hilariously shared that she gave Lady Gaga a foot massage in her dream, commenting "I think it's because I read that she rubs her feet when she's lonely."

Respa is on a mission to make better sleep accessible to everyone. With a wide range of mattresses and pillows designed for all preferences and sleep styles, Respa ensures that individuals can find the right combination to improve comfort, support, and sleep quality.
