Seasonal recipes from Flahavan’s to kick off Porridge Week

With Porridge Week starting next week, Flahavan’s have put together these comforting recipes, simple to make and ideal for brightening up chilly mornings or adding a wholesome treat to your day. They’re designed to be enjoyed by everyone - whether you’re easing into your morning routine, looking for a pick-me-up with your afternoon coffee, or seeking a nourishing snack.
Each dish is made with Flahavan’s oats, providing long-lasting energy to keep you fuelled throughout the day. They’re a lovely way to rediscover the joy of porridge as the seasons change.

Creamy Apricot and Almond Porridge with Nut Butter
A gorgeous way to enjoy your creamy porridge oats - indulgent and delicious!
Serves 2-3|Takes 10 mins
Ingredients:
· 100g of Flahavan’s porridge oats
· 300ml milk of choice
· 300ml of water
· 2 tablespoons of Boyne Valley honey
· 50g dried apricots, chopped (about 80)
· 25g almonds, chopped
· ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon or mixed spice
Garnish:
· Almond nut butter
· Chopped dried apricots
· Toasted flaked almonds
· Honey
Method:
Put the oats, milk, water, cinnamon, the apricots and almonds in a saucepan and bring to the boil.
2. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until thick and creamy.
3. Serve immediately garnished with a dollop of nut butter, some extra diced apricots, toasted almond flakes and a drizzle of honey.

White Chocolate & Cranberry Porridge
A gorgeous, indulgent, warming porridge recipe for winter!
Serves 2|Takes 10-15 mins
Ingredients:
For the Porridge:
· 100g Flahavan’s Progress Oatlets
· 2 tablespoons of dried cranberries
· I tablespoon of cranberry sauce (optional)
· 2 tablespoons of Boyne Valley Honey
· ¼ tsp fine sea salt
· 250ml milk of choice
· 250ml water
· 1 tablespoon of white chocolate chips
For the Topping:
· White chocolate chips
· Dried cranberries
· Boyne Valley Honey
Method:
1. Add the oats, honey, salt, milk and water to a saucepan.
2. Stir everything together and then place over a medium heat.
3. Continue to stir the oats frequently as the mixture heats up.
4. Once it begins to bubble, turn the temperature down and continue cooking until the porridge thickens and the oats are cooked (about 5-6 minutes).
5. Add the white chocolate chips and stir them through as they melt.
6. Divide between two bowls and top with dried cranberries, white chocolate chips and a drizzle of honey.
7. Serve immediately.
