For the first time ever, wagamama is bringing Christmas to its benches with a festive twist on a fan favourite. Launching on 17th November, wagamama is introducing the cranberry katsu - a playful reimagination of the brand’s iconic katsu curry, combining festive cranberry flavours with its signature sauce.

Embracing the TikTok-famous sweet and savoury trend of 2025, the limited-edition dish perfectly balances savoury, comforting flavours with a touch of festive sweetness. Crispy panko chicken is layered with silky, savoury katsu curry sauce and finished with a burst of sweet cranberry. Designed for those who love the warmth of the season but fancy something a little different, the cranberry katsu (€18) offers a fresh alternative to the traditional roast dinner, with a twist that’s distinctly wagamama!
Global Executive Chef at wagamama, Steve Mangleshot says; “For our first-ever seasonal dish, we’ve made a festive play on our classic katsu by adding a cranberry twist. The cranberry katsu is comforting, packed with flavour, and set to be the trending dish of the season.”
As the festivities approach, many find themselves craving something a little different. With weeks of friendsmas and office celebrations, which are usually accompanied by roast dinners and heavy indulgence, wagamama’s new cranberry katsu offers a lighter and unique alternative that is perfect for festive gatherings. The cranberry katsu is also available as a vegan yasai cranberry katsu option (€16.70), so everyone can join in the festive fun.
The cranberry katsu will be available in wagamama restaurants from 17th November, for a limited time only and while stocks last.
This new dish follows the recent opening of wagamama’s Liffey Valley restaurant and the re-opening of wagamama in Dundrum, both now open for individual and group bookings.
