Kilkenny Design debuts new Live Interactive Shopping Platform from RTÉ

Wonder what the latest new and exciting chichi home, fashion, and beauty trends are?

Wonder no more, with the arrival of the live, immersive and sublimely social shopping event that is WonderLive!

The Kilkenny Design store on Dublin’s Nassau Street was the first Irish business to showcase, using the revolutionary new shopping experience that is taking the world of retail by storm.

Jenny Johnston, Head of Marketing at the luxury Irish-design retail business, says the live-streamed interactive content elevates traditional online shopping;

It’s an immersive, social experience.  Shoppers can see and almost feel the product. Models showcase brands, stylists and interiors experts advise on the look, and consumers interact with the presenters and with each other.”

Consumers can question style or fit in real time, online, and instant deals and promotions add to the excitement of the latest new e-commerce marketplace.  Banter online is already fostering a community of fashion-loving, deal-seeking consumers in Ireland, who can place instant orders while watching the live shopping event.

Wonder Live has been developed by Mark Yuan and Zoe Zhang, who are the co-founders of a New York-based e-commerce livestreaming consultancy, And Luxe.

The multi-vendor platform in Ireland, described as a project supporting Irish business, is supported by RTÉ. Yuan and Zhang were in Ireland this week, with the national broadcaster, for the launch of the live stream commerce consultancy and retail tech solution here.

The pair worked with thousands of ‘live-streamers’ since the technology took off in the U.S. six years ago, not least businesswoman Kim Kardashian.

Shoppable livestreaming is two-way, according to Zoe Zhang, who trained in fashion design and brand marketing.

Viewers don’t sit passively; they interact with the presenter, chat with each other, and share opinions about whether to buy products, and how to use them or wear them.”

From a business perspective, Mark Yuan says live streaming a store or product is persuasive, and a cost-effective, readily available shop window for even the smallest business.

The appeal is often based on the realism and charm of the amateur presenters involved in the business.  Wonder Live will engage your community creatively, as well as increasing store traffic and boosting sales online.”

Kilkenny Design’s marketer, Jenny Johnston, who presented the first RTÉ WonderLive shopping event, says the merging of live video content and e-commerce is already showing promise.

Downloads of the Wonder Live app and participants in Kilkenny Design showcases are increasing, and we have many brands coming to us about how to involve their Kilkenny-stocked brands.”
