Aldi reveals top 20 items ordered on new Click & Collect service

The Covid pandemic has brought about seismic changes in the way we live and indeed the way we shop. Although Click and Collect services for non-essentials are currently not running, Aldi’s grocery Click & Collect service is still available in 15 stores across Dublin, Cork, Limerick, and Galway as well as Kildare, Wicklow, Meath and it continues to be rolled out successfully across the country. With dedicated collection slots and car parking spaces, Aldi has created a seamless system for its customers.

Actress Norma Sheahan who uses the Click & Collect service in her local Aldi in Sallynoggin said last month:

“It has been a game changer to me in terms of how I do my family shop. The ease of the transaction and indeed the feeling of that extra level of security would now make it my number one way to shop”.

Norma mentioned that milk, bananas and potatoes featured consistently on her Click & Collect shopping list and it would appear that she is not on her own, as all three items feature in Aldi Top 20 items ordered on Click & Collect since it began. Nearly half of the list is made up of Fruit & Vegetables, highlighting that Irish families are taking care of their diets one year into the pandemic.

The Top 20 items for Click & Collect and Deliveroo differ significantly. Some basics such as the 2L Fresh Milk, Healy’s Farm 12 Large Free Range Eggs and Organic Fairtrade Bananas feature on both Top 20 lists but Deliveroo goes international with Tortilla Wraps, Houmous and Brioche Buns whereas the Click & Collect Top 20 includes four different beef products and three different types of chicken breasts.

As we all continue to shop under restrictions, both Click & Collect and Aldi on the Deliveroo app offer customers shopping options to help them through this challenging time. Aldi has implemented a series of safety measures and continues to make its shoppers and staff safety, its number one priority.
