Earlier this month, Barnardos conducted a survey with 1,100 parents to find out their concerns ahead of the school year, which revealed some staggering results. Competition
While September may be just around the corner, summer is not over just yet! That’s why ALDI and Barnardos are teaming up to launch a summer art competition for children aged 4 – 16 from 15th August.
The Barnardos Best Part of Summer with ALDI Art Competition invites children and teenagers to get creative and submit their artwork to be in with a chance to win one of three €1,000 Art Bursaries for their school or crèche. The only rule is there are no rules! Budding artists can draw whatever they like using whatever they like - whether that’s pencils, crayons, markers, or paints.
To enter, simply go to www.barnardos.ie/aldi and download the template, or alternatively scan the QR code contained inside your ALDI leaflet and print off the template. Fill in the entry form with all your details and use the blank page to create your summer masterpiece. When you’re finished, scan or take a photo of your artwork, and send it to aldi@barnardos.ie or post to 4 Christchurch Square, Dublin 8 Eircode: D08 DT63. The competition will close on 16th September.
In 2020, ALDI launched a 2-year partnership with Barnardos to raise €1 million for vulnerable children and families across Ireland through staff, store, customer and community fundraising initiatives and has raised and donated €730,000 to date to this worthy cause. All money raised goes directly towards supporting Barnardos Early Years and Family Support Services.
You can support Barnardos by texting ‘KIDS’ to 50300. Texts cost €4 and Barnardos will receive a minimum of €3.60 from every text (SP: LIKECHARITY, Helpline:014819311). Every €2 donated could provide a nutritious breakfast for a vulnerable child attending Barnardos Early Years Services.
